LAU–CIH Roundtable Calls for Rebuilding Lebanon Differently
Lebanon’s reconstruction should not simply restore what existed before the war. It should be an opportunity to build a more productive economy, stronger institutions, and a citizenship-based state grounded in sovereignty and the rule of law.
This was the central theme of the closed experts’ roundtable, “From Reconstruction to Reform: Leveraging Comparative Advantage for Economic Recovery and Building a Citizenship-Based State in Post-War Lebanon,” jointly organized by the Center for Policy Action (CePA) at the Lebanese American University (LAU) and the Civic Influence Hub (CIH) at LAU’s Beirut campus. 18 August 2026
The roundtable brought together experts and stakeholders to examine how reconstruction can become a catalyst for structural reform, stronger economic governance, private-sector development, and renewed confidence in state institutions.
